Le film raconte l'épopée créative de Walt Disney et la rencontre joyeuse entre culture savante et culture populaire, où Gustave Doré, Daumier, et Rembrandt jouent à cache-cache avec Blanche Neige, Pinocchio, et la Belle au bois dormant. Sur un ton et un rythme qui empruntent au dessin animé, l'histoire se déploie comme une enquête à l'intérieur même du cerveau créatif de Disney, où s'orchestrent interviews de spécialistes, séquences animées en 3D, photos et archives, le tout emporté par des extraits des plus célèbres œuvres de Disney comme Blanche-Neige, Cendrillon, Fantasia, Bambi, Dumbo...
