Celebrated in New York as "Europe's most popular circus": Roncalli. Bernhard Paul's dream, which no one believed in and which the old circus dynasties wanted to destroy. Young Paul has no idea how hard the fight is behind the ring and that only a few survive. Circus is the top class of entertainment: Althoff, Barum, Krone - the big ones have divided between themselves. They do not accept the newcomer. Even Paul's partners become a threat.
